Mike and Dave to seek Wedding Dates on the big screen
Jake Szymanski (“Funny or Die” videos) is in talks to direct Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates for 20th Century Fox. He is replacing Jonathan Levine who was once attached to direct.
The comedy is based on the true story of Mike and Dave Stangle, two brothers from Albany, NY, who tried to get dates for a cousin’s wedding by placing an ad on the Craigslist website.
Their ad gone viral, the brothers found themselves on morning news shows, getting a book deal and now having their story being turned into a movie. The plot for the movie finds the immature brothers coming across a pair of women that can out-party and out-immature even them.
The screenplay has been written by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien (“Neighbors”).
Chernin Entertainment is producing.
