Channing Tatum to star in The Forever War
Channing Tatum is set to star in The Forever War, the big screen adaptation of Joe Haldeman’s sci-fi novel, that has been in development for years.
Warner Bros and Sony are now vying to set it up in their slate, while 20th Century Fox, who had the rights back in 2008 with Ridley Scott directing, is no longer in the bidding game.
Jon Spaihts will write the new draft for the screenplay, about a soldier who battles an enemy in deep space for only a few months, only to return home to a planet he doesn’t recognize some 20 years later.
Tatum will also produce with his Free Association company, along with Vertigo Entertainment and Management 360.
